This website was first published in May, 2000.
Founded in 1967, the Houston Photochrome Club has a membership of approximately forty people, most of whom are avid photographers. We are a racially diverse group of men and women of all ages. Our one common denominator is that we enjoy learning and helping others to learn about our favorite subject: photography! Although originally a color transparency (slide) club, we have since adopted projected digital photography and imaging as our medium.
At our meetings, we sponsor competition in this medium. Many of our members' interests are not only in digital photography, but also extend into color and black & white prints, image editing as well as other areas of our hobby.
Our meetings, workshops, and field trips are monthly, but the social event of the year for our club is our annual awards presentation. The highlight is a show of our "Images of the Year Contest" entries, capped with an awards presentation honoring the contest's winners. The event program also includes the installation of the coming year's officers.

Our club is a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and the Gulf States Camera Club Council (GSCCC) We actively participate in these organizations via inter-club competition and by convention attendance.
Visitors are always welcome at our meetings. If, after some exposure (no pun intended) to our club, you may find you want to JOIN US! If you desire some detailed membership info, click here.
