Founded in 1967,  the Houston Photochrome Club has a membership of approximately sixty people, most of whom are avid photographers.  We are a diverse group of men and women of all ages and many races.  Our one common denominator is that we enjoy learning and helping others to learn about our favorite subject: photography!  Although originally a color transparency (slide) club, in recent years, we have embraced digital photography as our medium.

At our meetings, we sponsor competition in the medium of projected digital images.  Many of our members' interests are not only into digital  photography, but also extend into transparencies (slides), color and black & white prints, digital editing  as well as other areas of our hobby.

Our meetings, workshops, and field trips are monthly, but the social event of the year for our club is our annual banquet.  The after- dinner entertainment is a show of our "Images of the Year Contest" entries, capped with an awards ceremony honoring the contest's winners.  The evening's program also honors the club's officers for their past year of service.  The program also includes the installation of the coming year's officers.

Our club is a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and the Gulf States Camera Club Council (GSCCC) We actively participate in these organizations via inter-club competition and by convention attendance.

Visitors are always welcome at our meetings. If, after some exposure (no pun intended)  to our club,  you may find you want to JOIN US!  If you desire some detailed membership info, click here.
